11/20/11 The Pike County Sheriff’s Department needs to identify the owner of a compound bow and case. The bow was found on November 11th at the intersection of Wall and Quincy Streets in Griggsville. If this bow is yours or you know who the bow belongs to, call the Pike County Sheriff’s Department non-emergency phone number (217) 285-5011. If you have any additional information about this bow, or any other crimes, you are asked to contact Pike County Crime Stoppers at (217) 285-1500. Scholarships announced. Crime Stoppers of Pike County is pleased to announce winners of a $1,000 Crime Stoppers scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year. Silas Greening, Pittsfield High School senior and son of Ed & Donita Greening of Pittsfield, was presented his award by Roger Fox, member of the Board of Directors of the local Crime Stoppers organization, at a recent honors banquet. Jessica Main, Western High School senior and daughter of Doug & Dawnetta Main of Barry, received her award at graduation ceremony. Both of these graduating seniors of Pike County schools met academic and residence standards and have expressed an interest in a career in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice. Scholarships are granted for the purpose of assisting the student with costs of tuition, books, fees and approved housing.
