Crime and Fugitive of the Week


The Barry Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff's Department are seeking information on a couple thefts that occurred in Barry on the evening of April 28th or the early morning hours of April 29th. In these thefts, items were taken from vehicles in the area of Pratt Street and Perry Street.

If you have nay information on the persons responsible for these thefts, please call Pike County Crime Stoppers at 285-1500.  If the information you provide leads to the arrest of the persons involved, you will receive a cash reward.

The next Crime Stoppers meeting is on May 10th at 7:00 PM at the Pike County Sheriff's Department.  If you would like to become a member of this organization, call 285-1500 and ask to be sent information.

This weeks Fugitive of the Week is Floyd E. Johns. Johns is wanted on a $20,000.00 Pike County Warrant for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. Johns is a 50 year old white male. Johns is 6 feet tall, weighs 185 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes.  Johns' last known address is in Pittsfield Illinois.


If you know the whereabouts of Johns, please call The Pike County Crime Stoppers at 217-285-1500.  If the information you provide leads to Johns' arrest, you will be eligible for a cash reward.

Remember Crime Stoppers can be used to report drunk drivers. If you see someone driving who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, please call 285-1500. You could be saving their life or someone else's.
