The Pike County Crime Stoppers would like to wish everyone a happy and safe 2016.  If you have information on any crimes taking place in Pike County IL, you are urged to call Pike County Crime Stoppers at 217-285-1500.   All tips are anonymous.  You will never be asked to identify yourself or give any personal information about yourself.   If you call in a tip, you will be given a tip number.  You must retain the tip number for any future contacts regarding your Crime Stopper tip.  If your tip results in an arrest and a payout is awarded, you must call Crime Stoppers with your assigned tip number to receive instructions on how to collect your reward.

Crime of the Week


The Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Griggsville/North Pike Fire Departments responded to a vehicle fire 1 mile East of New Salem on 02/07/17 at 7:38 AM.  Deputies are attempting to locate the owner, or driver, of this vehicle which appears to have been a late 90’s Mercury Mountaineer (color unknown).  If you have any information about this vehicle please contact Crime Stoppers at (217) 285-1500, as the vehicle sustained heavy fire damage and identification of vehicle has been unsuccessful so far.

Fugitive of the Week

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the whereabouts of 29 year old Joseph K Bushnell who’s last known address was rural Pittsfield.  Bushnell stands 6 foot 1 inch tall, weighs 230 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.  Bushnell is wanted in Pike County IL for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Failure to Appear for Violation of OP with a total bond of $13,000.00.  If you know the exact whereabouts of Bushnell or, have information on any other crimes taking place in Pike County, call Crime Stoppers at (217) 285-1500.  All calls remain anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest, you will be eligible for up to a $1000.00 reward.

Pike County Crimestoppers General Notice

Crimestoppers would like to take this opportunity to remind you of a few small steps you can take to help yourself from becoming a crime victim.   Lock all doors and windows in your house.  While making plans to leave for an extended time, remember to arrange for someone to watch over your house while you are away.  Remember to also remove keys and lock the doors on your vehicle while unattended, even while parked in your driveway.  If you have any information on any crime in Pike County, you are urged to call Crimestoppers at 217-285-1500.  If your tip is used in making an arrest, you will be eligible for a cash reward.    

Crime Stoppers holds its monthly meetings at the Pike County Sheriff's Department on the second Thursday of the month. Crime Stoppers is run by a Board of Directors, which consists entirely of volunteers from the Crime Stopper Membership. Crime Stoppers is always looking for new members who wish to make a difference in their community.
